Christmas Fun!
Christmas Eve started off with a gingerbread house decorating party with the grandparents.
Too fun! :)
Of course, the kids sampled lots.
We ate traditional ham dinner, read the nativity story from Luke, watched a nativity movie, ate gingerbread birthday cake and then the Pixie Elf came and brought new jammies for the girls.
I thought the girls were going to rise the dead with all their hooping and hollering--they LOVE their new jammies with matching bunny slippers (how did I not get a picture of those???)
Poor Maddie has been teething, but trying to be fun nonetheless.
Then off to bed and with all the grandparents' help playing Santa, we even got a decent night of sleep. :)
Christmas morning came, and we heard the girls wake up, pause for a moment to get their bunny slippers back on (that's saying something on Christmas morning!) and we were off!
Ashtyn, of course, went right for the stuffed golden retriever puppy as her favorite. That girl and her stuffed animals...
Then for the stockings!
Santa brought (and made) some great blocks for the girls.
Opening presents.
Corinne received a mermaid dress up. She put it on and wore it the rest of the day. And she wore it all the next day as well. Then her mean mom made her not wear it the 3rd day because it was chaffing under her arms. :)
Lucky Ashtyn got TWO stuffed animals. :)
Once the presents were opened and some of the excitement wore off, we made the Mayo family traditional breakfast: waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.
Maddie thought they were delicious. :)
Then we spent the rest of the day playing with our new toys....
...walking!!! (for the first time)...
...playing...
...coloring umbrellas....
...snacking...
...snacking...
...and snack...
What a great day. :)
