We were examining a huge beetle outside, and Madelyn (a natural-born bug hater) resolutely declared, “I don’t like beetles. I like bunnies.”
On a hike, Ashtyn said, “I have this great rock!” And Corinne said, “I have the best walking stick!” and Madelyn thought for a moment and said, “I have my Mommy!” (I was giving her a piggy-back ride.)

Corinne was VERY afraid on her bike ride (unknown to me, 1 training wheel was flopping around). As we were going down the hill, heading home, she was talking to the fairies on her bike, “phew, ok, ok, it’s Ok Periwinkle, we’re almost home, don’t worry, don’t worry.”
It was dinner time (without Tyler again) and Ashtyn wanted to play 20 questions. I just wanted them to eat so I said no. She said, “well, you’re done eating…can you just tell us about atoms or something?”
February 2015
Ashtyn plays dragon games at recess with a fluctuating group of girls and boys. Recently she informed me that it was “mating season.” I probed her about it (nonchalantly of course) and she simply said, that “it was mating season, but I didn’t want to mate, so I just built nests.”
Corinne spilled her water twice at breakfast. After cleaning and some deep thought she launched into a monologue about how princesses never spill their drinks, but fairies spill one time usually and mermaids, well they were just more clumsy, and the she, was “definitely still in the mermaid style right now.” She reassured us that she was progressing though and would eventually reach fairy status and with luck and hard work, princess status.

All I can say is WOW, she is only 18 months old!
That's amazing! I can't believe how big she is. They grow up so quickly. I'm discovering that with Landon when he learns how to get into something new. I'm glad all is going well for you maybe we'll get to see you someday!
Holy Cow, she isn't even 1 1/2 yet right? How can she do that. Smart parents yields smart little people I guess. She is so cute. Is she talking a lot. Does she want all of your attention--that is an oldest child thing. They say the IQ drops by 10 points by each drop in birth order.
I remember when out of the blue kobe started counting, it is so exciting when they catch onto something and it's a GOOD SOMETHING!!! Kobe is starting actually count the number of things he sees and 90% of the time he's right. I love it. She is a smarty pants, but what do you expect when she has you guys for parents. She has some "good jeans!"

Apparently, Ashtyn IS ADORABLE! And a genius! How cute is that.
Wow Jaime! I was just thinking today how amazing it is that she knows her colors but numbers too--that's incredible! I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering her parents are both doctors :)
