Tyler spent 2 weeks up in Sandpoint, Idaho early in May. I decided that Ashtyn wouldn't miss much at school if she missed a few days, so we packed up, picked up my mom, and we headed up to visit!
Lucky for us, the Dr. he was working for let us stay in his nice, 3-bedroom condo. Lakefront condo.
It was lovely.
The first thing we wanted to check out was the Cedar Street Bridge.
It is a little shopping mall that spans a river. Kind of fun.
I was a little disappointed that most of the spots were vacant. I don't know if by missing tourist season that is why they were empty, or if they just don't fill up.
They had a really fun children's creativity area that the girls could have stayed in for hours.
After eating some amazing gelato, shopping and then playing, we walked down the main street of the town and did some more shopping.
Now this next picture is just to give you an idea of what heaven is. :)
Ashtyn informed us that she was pretty sure this was what heaven was--eating hotdogs outside in beautiful Sandpoint. :)
Corinne was also so happy she had to make some crazy faces. :)
After nap time, we went to the Farmer's Market.
Which of course entailed a visit to the nearby splash pad.
Which was MOSTLY fun and games, but Corinne did get a pretty strong burst right to the face and up the nose. She recovered very quickly though.
You can see personalities of my two older girls well in these splash pad photos--Corinne LOVES water and getting wet and being wild in it. And here is Ashtyn having fun, but just not quite to the same level of wetness....
Sandpoint attracts quite a few artsy-fartsy folks, so there is all sorts of beautiful murals throughout the town (not to mention artsy stores: fine art, art supplies, kids crafting stores, tons of floral stores, etc.) I liked this 3-dimensional one they had on the walls of the public restroom by the splash pad.
